When you are a naturalist, you love not only nature but also animals.
It started during my teens when my parents brought to the zoo to breathe some fresh air and also to see the animals in person. I was going through a hard time; I think because of puberty, it’s hard to remember everything, but I know, I started to love nature and animals when they brought me to the zoo.
After we went to the zoo, I ask their permission, if it is okay to adopt an amphibian, reptiles or fish, because I love to take care of these loving creatures, and nature, and put them in a desktop aquarium for the aquatic animals, and a nano paludarium for killifish, guppies or toads.
With these said, they let keep a school of fish and just have a desktop aquarium kit place in my bedroom. And now, many years have passed, I have a stable career to support my interest as a naturalist. So, I ordered a brand new desktop aquarium kit and nano paludarium, and I saw a different container, they call it desktop terrarium kit, and it for creating a small ecosystem. Here are my experiences using them all.
Desktop Aquarium Kit
Urban Scape Ni was the desktop aquarium kit I am looking for, and as a naturalist, this tank is perfect for my aquatic animals. After receiving it from the courier, I immediately place it over the counter and pour a gallon of water, and I arranged the air pump, and I could see the aeration flows well. What I love about this desktop aquarium kit is the lighting it has, it’s not too bright, and it has a dual switch selector, which is lovely.
Nano Paludarium
While the nano paludarium I bought is different to what I have at home, because it has one-third of the tank with a removable plexiglass door, and it amazes me a lot. One of the reasons is my plants require a higher humidity level, and this nano paludarium has sufficient space for my plants. Also, it has a USB powered water pump regulates water flow, and now I can grow some mosses and plants up against its high walls.
Desktop Terrarium Kit
Now for the new tank I saw and brought is something unusual I ever landed my eyes on, and it challenges me as a naturalist to create my tiny ecosystem inside this 1968 glass box of Saikei, and it as a removable panel with designated lighting above the ceiling, now I could plant wabi-sabi.
After spending my whole weekend arranging the tanks I bought for my animals and plants, and so far, I am happy with my decision, and I couldn’t help myself, but to smile, because from the desktop aquarium kit to desktop terrarium kit are amazing, more than as I imagine it to be.
If you are one of the people who love animals and plants, it’s not too late to be a naturalist and part of this world. If you need some help with tanks, I highly recommend the desktop aquarium and nano paludarium from Bokkusu Kei in Singapore.
